Why Goldenrod Exists
I'm Rusty Hoyle — a veteran, a Texan by way of small-town Kentucky, and someone who believes country music deserves better than what it's been getting. After four years of active duty in the United States Army, including a deployment to Afghanistan, I came home with a clear sense of what matters and what doesn't. That perspective followed me straight into the music industry.
I started Goldenrod Music Management because I kept watching talented artists get swallowed up by a business that puts the bottom line ahead of the music. Deals that looked good on paper but killed careers. Managers more interested in their own brand than their artist's. Before making the move into music, I built a successful career in automotive parts sales in Houston — so I know how to walk into a room, make a case, and close. Pitching an artist isn't that different. You have to believe in what you're selling, know your audience, and earn the trust. I knew I could bring that to this industry and do it differently — so I did.
Goldenrod is built on one principle: the music comes first. Always. I take on a small roster intentionally, because every artist I work with deserves my full attention, not a slice of it.
